North Nanaimo / Woodgrove

North Nanaimo has grown into the city's busiest commercial district around Woodgrove Centre, a major regional shopping mall, surrounded by newer subdivisions, townhomes and big box retail. It is one of the more car oriented parts of the city, but also one of the fastest growing, with new family housing continuing to fill in along the highway corridor.

Getting around

The Nanaimo Parkway and Island Highway 19A both run through North Nanaimo, making it one of the most drive convenient parts of the city.

Newer elementary and secondary schools serve North Nanaimo's growing family population.
