Greater Vancouver
Farmland and the largest tidal freshwater lake in North America.
The Area
Pitt Meadows sits between Maple Ridge and Port Coquitlam at the edge of Metro Vancouver, a small, agricultural community wrapped around the Pitt River and Pitt Lake, the largest tidal freshwater lake in North America.
Pitt Polder's dyked farmland produces blueberries and other crops right up to the edge of the Fraser floodplain, and Pitt Lake's tidal freshwater draws paddlers, anglers and boaters into a wilderness that feels far larger than the community around it.
The Golden Ears Bridge connects Pitt Meadows directly to Langley Township across the Fraser, and a West Coast Express station puts downtown Vancouver within a single commuter train ride each weekday morning, while Pitt Meadows Regional Airport serves general aviation and flight training.
Housing remains more affordable than neighbouring Coquitlam or Port Coquitlam, with newer subdivisions filling in around the older agricultural core, and Pitt Meadows continues to draw families who want small town space with a fast, direct commute into the region's core.
